Experts believe these numbers will jump to 42 million and 33 percent by the year 2020. These jobs include Etsy sellers, restaurant owners, pest control companies, and so much more. They’re family businesses, hobbyists who have successfully turned their passions into pursuits, and entrepreneurs who simply find it difficult to work for someone else. Every business owner is unique — just like their business — but there are a few common traits that set them apart from the millions of employees who chose not to work for themselves.
